Hello friends! We all seem to know someone, or even ourselves, that CANCER has affected. Now there is an opportunity in scalp cooling that allows you to keep your hair while going through chemo. As hair dressers, we are impacted so much by hearing our clients tell us about their diagnosis, and always wished we could help. Now we can! Headlines The Salon is fundraising on behalf of HairToStay this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the goal of raising $10,000 to help at least 10 more patients keep their hair. Please help us reach our goal!
HairToStay is the first and only national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients afford scalp cooling, a treatment that can dramatically reduce chemotherapy induced hair loss. As well as subsidizing the treatment, we help to raise awareness and offer information and support to patients considering the use of scalp cooling to keep their hair during chemotherapy.
Scalp cooling has been FDA cleared for patients undergoing chemotherapy for all solid tumor cancers, but the majority of our recipients are women with breast cancer. This October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, salons across the country are fundraising on behalf of HairToStay, to ensure that more patients like Liz Acosta have access to scalp cooling to save their hair, and in turn, their privacy, identity and well-being.
